Haddam Community
Haddam Ridge is located in the Higganum section of historic Haddam.
With its easy access to the Connecticut River, Haddam was founded in 1662 as a ship building town, and during that time was also well known for its granite quarries. In the 1800’s Higganum was the center of most of the town’s economic activity. Today, Higganum serves as the town’s traditional village center, with its village green and gazebo, and local shops, banking and restaurants nearby. Haddam maintains its connection to the river with two active marinas.
